Kampong Bahru, Kampong Pasir Ris, and numerous Asian kampongs along Elias Path were on the list of kampongs which used to inhabit the region in the first days. That place was well-known for its plantation estates, including Loh Lam Property, Singapore United Plantations, Thai Minute House, and Hun Yeang Estate.
